I bought the 50H model three years ago for surfcasting, pier, and boat use, where I expected a lot of rough handling and big fish. It's a docile caster, and I can easily hurl shark and drum rigs 75-80 yards out. It has plenty of gear power and is very rugged. I caught 50 lb sharks, rays, and large gag groupers with this reel. It can do everything a SL50 can, but its design and operation are better. I even dunked it in the surf, and dipping it in a bucket of fresh water later in the day prevented any damage or corrosion.
The Daiwa Seagate is a lightweight, powerful star drag fishing reel. The 20 and 30 sizes put out 15.4 lbs of drag while the 35, 40 and 50 put out an impressive 19.8 lbs of drag! These new reels make use of a corrosion-proof composite frame and side plates to house a rugged, work horse gear train. Aluminum spool starts fast but is kept in control by centrifugal brake system. A great, all-around reel at a very reasonable price.
