The body is constructed of magnesium in a monocoque shape to maximize gear size and reduce water entry points. Daiwa has incorporated their new Zaion Air Drive Rotor which is 15% lighter, more rigid and stronger than the previous version. They have also reduced weight in the bail and changed the angle to create a seamless connection with the line roller. These reductions in weight at the top of the reel reduce start up inertia so the reel will get going quicker than in the previous generation. Internally the reel features thirteen ball bearings and an improved shaft that is supported by two ball bearings. Daiwa's engineers did a great job refining the drive train which is going to lead to you having a better fishing experience.
