The monocoque aluminum design is extremely efficient allowing for a taller and thicker gear set than other reels in the category. This is a huge advantage for power and durability. The BG MQ is also sealed with gaskets and o-rings to keep water, salt and grit on the outside of the reel. Daiwa put such a powerful drag system that even the 2500 size puts out 22 lbs of drag. Daiwa BG MQ Spinning Reels are available in ten different models starting at a 2500 and going all the way up to a 20000. The 5000 and 6000 share a body while the 8000, 10000 and 14000 share a body. The 18000 and 20000 also share the same body. Reels are black with silver accents.
