Dark Matter OB Surf Casting Rods

You've probably never seen anything like a Dark Matter OB Surf Casting Rod. Most conventional surf rods are bulky, heavy and built for large conventional reels. The OB is an open beach surf rod that introduces finesse surfcasting to anglers who love fishing low profile reels and round baitcasting reels. Based off of Japanese surf rods, the OB is perfect for throwing lighter lures from the open beach. The OB weighs just 7.8 ozs and is outfitted with thirteen Fuji Alconite K Guides and a custom butt that is different from what you have seen on surf rods in the past. It is meant to be fished like an inshore rod but with the casting ability of a precision 10' surf rod.  On a typical 10' surf rod, you might pair it with an Avet MXL, or something similar. The OB excels with a 200-300 size baitcasting reel. This combo will deliver incredibly long casts and by cutting so much weight you'll be able to fish much longer than with a traditional set up. With practice you'll be able to dump most of the braid on your reel of choice. By casting longer and with less effort you'll be able to stay in the strike zone longer which will lead to more hookups! While the tip is extremely sensitive, the back end of the rod has a crazy amount of power so you will be able to control fish. Dark Matter OB Surf Casting Rods are available in 10" and have a 50/50 split. When you put the rod pieces together there will be some space showing. This is completely normal. Just twist the pieces together firmly but don't over do it. You do not need a lot of force. Due to the lightweight design, the OB is more fragile than a traditional surf rod. While it is extremely powerful, it cannot handle as much abuse as a traditional surf rod. Take good care of it and it will last a very long time!
