Product Description
Gibbs Darters have come before the ASMFC as a major threat to the local populations of linesiders from Maine to Maryland. Ok so maybe that didn’t happen, but I bet that John Q. Striper wished it had. Seriously, these lures have an action that’s so effective they should almost be outlawed. Almost. Fish a Gibbs Darter against the current, say in an inlet or over a ripping point, and watch the magic happen! The erratic side to side movement will trigger the most savagely instinctive strikes from all kinds of gamefish, especially the almighty Morone Saxtilis. Gibbs Darters won’t cast as well as their plastic counterparts, but what they lack in distance, they make up for in all-around performance. The wooden body delivers more drag in the water, and thus provides a much more pronounced darting motion.
Gibbs Darters are available in 1 5/8 oz, and 2 ½ oz sizes, and come in a variety of different hatch-matching color schemes including: Blue, white, mackerel, yellow, black, black/purple, and herring. Like all Gibbs lures, the Darter is made from the finest quality American timber, and handcrafted locally in Rhode Island.
Models: DTR1-5/8, DTR2-1/2
