Penn Clash II 4000 Spinning Reels

Penn Clash II Spinning Reels have gotten a refresh for 2020. The original Clash was a series that was well received and covered a wide spectrum of fishing. Penn has decided to change their efforts and target the Clash II at inshore anglers as well as freshwater anglers who prefer an all metal reel to one with a carbon frame. The Penn Clash II features CNC gears that are better than ones that are stamped. The main gear is aluminum and the pinion is brass so it will hold up well against big inshore fish. Like most Penns, the Clash II features their HT-100 carbon drag system which is strong and reliable. They have an 8+1 stainless steel sealed ball bearing system with a hydrophobic line roller to prevent saltwater from causing it to fail. They have also incorporated their Clutch Armor system to keep saltwater and sand out of the key components of the reel. Another great feature is the slow oscillation system which will reduce dreaded wind knots, especially when fishing with very light braided lines. Penn Clash II Spinning Reels are available in six sizes. The 3000 and 4000 models come in two different gear ratios. The lower gear ratio has an EVA paddle handle but comes with a power knob in the box. The higher gear ratio models only come with a power knob.
