UFSHN Minnow Head Bucktails

Bring the natural appearance of a baitfish and the proven effectiveness of a bucktail jig together with UFSHN Minnow Head Bucktails. Featuring a distinctive minnow-shaped head, genuine bucktail hair, and reflective silver flash, these lures are designed to attract striped bass, fluke, bluefish, and other saltwater predators. Whether you're casting from the surf, working an inlet, or jigging from a boat, UFSHN Minnow Head Bucktails deliver a versatile presentation that can be adapted to a wide range of fishing conditions.

Realistic Minnow Head Design

The defining feature of UFSHN Minnow Head Bucktails is their baitfish-inspired head shape. Unlike traditional round-head bucktails, the minnow-style design creates a more recognizable baitfish profile, helping the lure resemble the natural forage that predatory fish pursue. Combined with the movement of the bucktail dressing, the head provides a convincing presentation whether the lure is being retrieved steadily, hopped along the bottom, or worked through moving water.

Genuine Bucktail Hair for Natural Movement

Each UFSHN Minnow Head Bucktail features genuine bucktail hair, a material that has remained a favorite among saltwater anglers for generations. The natural fibers flare and pulse as the jig moves through the water, creating subtle movement that resembles the fins and body of a swimming baitfish. Even during a slow retrieve or brief pause, the bucktail responds to current and water movement, helping maintain an enticing presentation without requiring aggressive rod action.

Bunker Color with Reflective Silver Flash

The bunker-inspired color pattern is designed to imitate one of the most important forage species in Northeast saltwater fishing. Complemented by silver flash, the natural bucktail dressing creates a baitfish profile with additional visual attraction. As the lure moves through the water, the reflective strands catch available light and produce subtle flashes that can help draw attention from feeding predators. This combination is particularly appealing when striped bass and bluefish are feeding on peanut bunker and other small baitfish.

Eight Weights for Everything from Shallow Water to Strong Currents

Available in 1/2, 3/4, 1, 1.5, 2, 3, 4, and 6-ounce sizes, UFSHN Minnow Head Bucktails offer an impressive range of options for different fishing conditions. Lighter weights are excellent for shallow back bays, calmer water, and finesse presentations, while heavier models provide the weight needed to fish deeper water and stronger currents. This broad selection allows anglers to maintain the proper presentation whether they're casting from shore, working an inlet, or fishing vertically from a boat.

Versatile for Surfcasting, Jigging, and Bottom Fishing

The UFSHN Minnow Head Bucktail is equally comfortable being cast and retrieved or worked along the bottom. Surfcasters can swim these jigs through current seams and along beach structure for striped bass, while boat anglers can bounce them along the bottom for fluke and other species. The natural bucktail dressing also pairs well with soft plastic trailers or strip baits, allowing anglers to customize the profile, movement, and overall presentation to match the conditions.

A Proven Bucktail Concept with a Realistic Twist

Developed by UFSHN, the Minnow Head Bucktails combine the traditional fish-catching qualities of natural bucktail with a more realistic baitfish-inspired head design. The bunker color pattern, reflective silver flash, and broad range of weights make these jigs a practical addition to any Northeast saltwater tackle collection. Whether you're targeting striped bass along the beach, working an inlet on a moving tide, or bouncing the bottom for fluke, UFSHN Minnow Head Bucktails offer the natural action and versatility that make bucktail fishing so effective.
